Saratoga Tree Nursery Ordering Information
The Department of Environmental Conservation operates the State Tree Nursery in Saratoga Springs, which produces tree and shrub seedlings for conservation plantings on private and public lands. Native New York seed-sources are used when available.
How to Order
BY PHONE: Orders for seedlings can be placed from January 2 through mid-May by calling (518) 587-1120, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is the recommended way to order since the operator will be able to answer questions or direct you to the proper office for information if you need help. An order will be completed over the phone and sent to you in the mail for your approval and signature.
For all other inquiries call the Nursery office at (518) 581-1439, Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

An invoice will be returned to you for your approval and signature. Customers must return the signed order form in ten (10) days with payment by check or money order to complete the purchase, unless other arrangements have been made. DO NOT SEND CASH. Instructions on how to complete the order are on the invoice.
All requests are filled after January 2 in the order received. Species sell out quickly, so order early.
If you need help with your planting project, you should contact the Regional Forestry Office for your county. You may also contact the Regional Biologist for help with your wildlife plantings. Information on erosion control, windbreaks or bank stabilization can be obtained by contacting your county Soil and Water Conservation District Office or the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service. Private forestry consultants are also available to provide assistance.
