Furbearer Management Newsletter
The Furbearer Management Newsletter is produced by the Bureau of Wildlife. It's purpose is to provide an update on furbearer management issues to trappers and others interested in furbearer management in New York.
After a four-year absence, the Furbearer Management Newsletter is back. We heard loud and clear from trappers how much they missed this item, so we made resurrection of the newsletter a high priority. There have been many changes to the Furbearer Management Team (FMT) since the last edition, and there has also been a tremendous amount of research being conducted on various furbearer species throughout the state. The current FMT roster and a summary of current research projects can all be found in the Summer 2008 edition.
Our goal is to offer this newsletter on a regular basis but we need your help in this endeavor. If there are items of particular interest to you either regionally or on a statewide basis, please contact your Regional furbearer biologist to discuss your ideas for future articles.
