Bluebreast Darter

Etheostoma camurum
Bluebreast darter lives in larger-sized and medium-sized streams with clean gravel and is native to the Allegheny. In recent surveys it has been caught infrequently, and it was below detection levels until 1973. Abundance is low and the habitat needs are very specific. Bluebreast darter is classified as Endangered because it is rare and not because of recent declines in abundance.
