Chrosomus neogaeus

Finescale Dace inhabits small streams and is native in eight of 18 watersheds including the Allegheny, Upper Hudson and several watersheds in the Saint Lawrence drainage. Its status in the Saint Lawrence, Oswegatchie, Champlain and Upper Hudson watershed is secure, but it has declined to below detection in the Allegheny, Ontario and Black watersheds and is rare in the Raquette watershed and in the southern Adirondack region.
