*** Important ***
The maps of species distribution represent the known range of the specis in New York as reported to the Amphibian and Reptile Atlas Project from 1990-1999. For a few species, additional reports collected during the post Atlas period have been included on the maps if they represent new locations not previously known. Data from the Atlas should be carefully considered before it is used for environmental review purposes. Some reported locations may be removed from the database and maps during the final quality review prior to publication of the Atlas. Each colored block represents one 1:24,000 scale or 7.5' topographic quadrangle. There are 979 atlas blocks (topographic quadrangles) in the state. These maps range in size from 8-13KB each.
