Sea Lamprey Trapping - April through June 2008

During the spring, trapping and removing of adult sea lamprey as they migrate up tributaries to spawn will take place on the following streams:

  • Malletts Creek - Chittenden County, VT
  • Sunderland Brook - Chittenden County, VT
  • Indian Brook - Chittenden County, VT
  • Pond Brook - Chittenden County, VT
  • Trout Brook - Chittenden County, VT
  • Stonebridge Brook - Chittenden County, VT
  • Great Chazy River - Clinton County, NY
  • Beaver Brook - Essex County, NY
  • Mill Brook - Essex County, NY
  • Mullen Brook - Essex County, NY
  • Boquet River - Essex County, NY

Lampricide Treatments - September/October 2008

Four tributaries of Lake Champlain are scheduled for treatment with TFM

  • Winooski River, Chittenden County, VT - 10.3 miles
  • Missisquoi River Franklin County, VT - 7.8 miles
  • Great Chazy River, Clinton County, NY - 21.1 miles
  • Mount Hope Brook, Washington County NY - 2.5 miles

One delta is scheduled for treatment with Bayluscide

  • Saranac River Delta, Clinton County, NY - 104 acres

2007 Lampricide Treatment Summary

TFM treatments were completed on three tributaries

  • Beaver Brook, Essex County, NY
  • Boquet River, Essex County, NY
  • Poultney River, Rutland County, VT including the Hubbardton River

Bayluscide treatment of the Ausable River delta in Clinton County, NY delta was completed.

Treatments of two deltas were determined to be unnecessary, due to the low numbers of lamprey ammocoetes found during assessments:

  • Little Ausable River Delta, Clinton County, NY
  • Salmon River Delta, Clinton County, NY
