|Duties/Responsibilities||The Sr. Natural Resource Planner will work with a multidisciplinary team in development of management plans for Forest Preserve and State Forest lands and conservation easement areas. The Sr. Planner will coordinate with appropriate staff in the central and regional offices to develop unit management plans, recreation plans, and comprehensive plans. Sr. Planners produce maps and visual aids/presentations to inform decision making and communicate planning proposals. They also perform planning tasks involving data gathering, information analysis, and formulation of planning alternatives; analyze and assess project impacts; identify mitigation measures; develop and evaluate monitoring methods to assess user impacts and perceptions. The Sr. Planner will advance drafts to final documents by going through the public and stakeholder outreach and hearing process; including coordination with the Adirondack Park Agency, assessing public comments and compliance with State Environmental Review Act requirements.|

+ Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointments:
Open competitive minimum qualifications (provided for 55 b/c candidates and 70.4 transfer eligibles): a bachelor's or higher-level degree in natural resources planning AND two years of professional experience in local and/or regional planning involving natural resource analysis; OR a bachelor's or higher-level degree, including or supplemented by 36 semester credit hours in at least three (3) or more of the following areas: natural resources managements; forest management; forest recreation; natural resources policy environmental conservation recreation planning; ecology; mapping and geographic information systems; environmental studies/science; watershed management; and/or wildlife management; AND two years of professional experience in local and/or regional planning involving natural resources analysis.
