RE: Proposed License Restructuring - Trapping License
Dear Senator Klein:
Thank you for taking the time to call me and inquire about the proposed sporting license restructuring and the Conservation Fund Advisory Board.
As you are aware the New York State Trappers Association has requested from numerous members of the legislature that there be a separate trapping license rather than combine it with the hunting license as was originally proposed.
I have reached out to everyone on the Conservation Fund Advisory Board and they are all in favor of having a separate trapping license if that is what the New York State Trappers Association would like. The Board also has no issue with lowering the fee from the current rate of$21.00 down to $20.00 and lowering the non-resident from the current rate of $31 0.00 to no less than $275.00.
CFAB will be holding a meeting on Monday March 11, 2013 and this topic will be discussed further. Ifyou would like to attend that meeting at DEC Headquarters in Albany you are more than welcome to attend.
Thank you for your interest and support in this matter.
