Quality Assurance

The Bureau of Quality Assurance (BQA) was formed in 2003 to bring together existing Quality Assurance (QA) functions within the Division of Air Resources. We are using existing QA Programs in ambient monitoring as a model and point of departure, for new QA Programs. We are actively developing QA systems for permitting, compliance activities, and mobile source Inspection and Maintenance (I/M). We plan to expand our activities into the emission inventory as time permits.

The BQA is also responsible for health and safety, training and coordination of activities concerning existing and proposed facilities.

The goal of BQA is to report on how well DAR Program elements are performed relative to established procedures, regulations, and laws. These reports will provide the basis for determining what, if any, corrective actions need to be instituted.
