New York State Freshwater Wetlands Appeals Board members
About the Board
The New York State Freshwater Wetlands Appeals Board was created in 1976 to permit the expeditious review of decisions involving Freshwater Wetlands. As a quasi-judicial body, the Board serves as an alternative forum for individuals seeking substantially the same relief as would be available through an Article 78 proceeding under the Civil Practice Law and Rules.
The members of the board are appointed by the Governor for terms of two years. One member is appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the New York State Senate, to serve as Chairman for a period of three years.
