Duties/Responsibilities Under the direction of the Network Operations Unit manager, this position is responsible for technical administration of DEC's RedDot Web content management system (WCM). The incumbent must have in-depth knowledge of RedDot WCM and is expected to provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for the WCM. Additional coding in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ASP will be necessary to optimize DEC's website templates within the WCM. The incumbent will work with web team staff and program staff throughout the agency, as well as vendor support staff, when addressing problems.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Provides training to users and system administrators
  • Acts as primary technical liaison with product vendor
  • Manages system upgrades and modifications
  • Implements updates to the existing system for proper display in additional Web browsers
  • Conducts additional optimization to the code to ensure full and continuous compliance with P04-002, the Statewide Technology Policy: Accessibility of State Agency Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications
  • Manages second level/escalated troubleshooting
  • Identifies user needs for system improvements
  • Provides direct support to DEC's content contributors
  • Analyzes poor performance reports to diagnose issues and provide solutions
  • Provides technical interface/consultation between the vendor and the department
  • Prepares documentation related to the product
  • Monitors and implements industry best practices for WCM
Minimum Qualifications

Strictly adhered to based on
Civil Service requirements
-Six + years in programming experience including at least three (3) years direct applicable experience with RedDot/Open Text Web Content Management with emphasis on ability to stabilize, maintain and optimize the system.

-Also requires in-depth knowledge of: Java Script, Jquery, PL/SQL, SQL, HTML, CSS, Solaris-based environments.
