The Avon office is the headquarters for Region 8. It is the center of most of the Department's activities in the Region, including:

- Public Affairs and Education
- Solid and Hazardous Materials

Bath Sub-office
The Bath suboffice has the second largest staff in Region 8.
Staff from this office specialize in several programs, including:
- Forest Rangers
- Forestry
- Operations
- Pesticides
- Spill Prevention and Response
- Wildlife
There are also a Fish Hatchery and an operations center in Bath.
Horseheads Sub-office
The Horseheads office is the Regional Flood Control Office for Region 8. The staff in the Horseheads office handle flood control issues and hazardous materials spills. Staff have office space within the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport Terminal Building.
