Audio and Video Files on the DEC Web Site
Introduction
DEC will, from time to time, use media files (files containing audio, video, or both) on the web site for very specialized content. While audio and/or video may be used for presentations and special promotions, all content required to be made public and other important information will still be presented in HTML format.
Media Players
In order to be seen and/or heard, all audio or video files require that a "player" be installed on your computer. The following players can be used both as plug-ins to your web browser or as stand-alone players. DEC does not endorse the use of any particular media player.
- QuickTime
- RealPlayer
- WinAmp
- Windows Media Player
Accessibility
DEC is committed to providing a web site that is highly accessible to all individuals, regardless of special needs. All media content residing on the DEC web site is made accessible to the greatest extent practical. This includes text transcripts and audio descriptions of visual content. Visitors with disabilities who have difficulty using the DEC web site can request assistance by emailing us at dpaeweb@gw.dec.state.ny.us.
Please note that the Department of Environmental Conservation cannot advise you on how to install or run any particular software, and cannot provide technical assistance with the use of media players. Please contact the software manufacturers directly if you encounter any difficulty using their products.
