Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 10 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: As an Electronic Equipment Mechanic or Supervising Electronic Equipment Maintenance.
Open competitive minimum qualifications (provided for 55b/c candidates and 70.4 transfer eligibles): Three years experience in the operation and maintenance of electronic equipment specifically directed toward one or more of the following areas: 1) diagnosis and repair of office equipment such as word processors, mini computers, and micro processors; 2) medical electronic equipment such as electrocardiographs, blood gas analyzers, defibulators, and x-ray equipment; 3) scientific equipment such as spectrophotometers, chemical analyzers, and radiation detection instruments; 4) communication equipment such as two-way radios, fire alarms, closed-circuit television systems; 5) control equipment, security systems, and intrusion and surveillance equipment; or 6) instrumentation including meters, sensors, indicators, recorders and data acquisition equipment as follows:
Substitution: One of the following may be substituted for a portion of the required satisfactory work experience. Either an Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology or successful completion of a two-year technical professional certification program in the electronics field may be substituted for two years of the required experience. OR Graduation from a high school technical electronics education program recognized by the New York State Education Department as meeting the standards for technical education may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
