| Duties/Responsibilities | The DEC Chief Lifeguard is responsible for administering the Water Safety program at the Department's campground and day-use area beaches. This is an administrative position in the Albany office that requires both field and office duties. |

To Apply: Possess current certification in Waterfront Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Vision requirement: minimum of 20/40 uncorrected vision in each eye. For Appointment: Must pass a practical exam in Lifesaving and CPR skills. Submit a current doctor's certification that you are physically capable of performing lifeguarding duties. Must possess a valid drivers license or otherwise demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. |

Strong preference for individual with current Instructor certifications in Waterfront Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Upon appointment, selected candidate will be expected to obtain these credentials.
