Duties/Responsibilities The DEC Chief Lifeguard is responsible for administering the Water Safety program at the Department's campground and day-use area beaches. This is an administrative position in the Albany office that requires both field and office duties.
Minimum Qualifications

Civil Service requirements
To Apply: Possess current certification in Waterfront Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Vision requirement: minimum of 20/40 uncorrected vision in each eye.
For Appointment: Must pass a practical exam in Lifesaving and CPR skills. Submit a current doctor's certification that you are physically capable of performing lifeguarding duties.
Must possess a valid drivers license or otherwise demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.
Additional Comments

Strong preference for individual with current Instructor certifications in Waterfront Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Upon appointment, selected candidate will be expected to obtain these credentials.
