|Duties/Responsibilities||The Associate Attorney will report to the Regional Attorney (RA). As assigned by the RA, the Associate Attorney will serve as lead counsel on significant enforcement proceedings, complex permit hearings, and other matters, including those with multi-region or multi-agency involvement. When appropriate, the Associate Attorney will assist the Attorney General's office and/or Department of Justice in judicial proceedings. The Associate Attorney will analyze legal issues in enforcement and permit matters, prepare consent orders and related pleadings, conduct legal research and represent the Department in Administrative proceedings. As assigned by the RA, the Associate Attorney will manage teams of lawyers and program staff during complex enforcement and permit hearings. The Associate Attorney will also focus on legal issues related to the complex Onondaga Lake cleanup as well as other complex remediation projects in the region. At times, the Associate Attorney may assist other regions with remediation legal work. In the absence of the RA, the Associate Attorney will supervise other employees in the Region 7 General Counsel Office, will participate in Region 7 Supervisor meetings facilitated by the Regional Director and will participate in periodic Office of General Counsel meetings/phone conferences.|

Eligible for transfer under Section 52.6: Must have current or prior service in a title designated as 52.6 within two salary grades\one M grade of this position and possess the appropriate license.
