Duties/Responsibilities

Assist the License Sales unit with duties including, but not limited to:
- Serve as escalation contact for Dept. of Tax & Finance (DEC call center) and unit seasonal staff who answer calls from DECALS customers and License Issuing Agents. Calls that require additional research for resolution, system issues that will need ITS follow up and entered into our JIRA ticketing system, and complaints that need to be escalated to a supervisor would all be handled by OA2 position. OA2 must be familiar with all license issuance rules and regulations and sales system functionality;
- As new functionality is added to DECALS to improve usability, accommodate regulatory changes, or bug fixes, OA2 is responsible for ensuring all system functionality is regression tested by unit staff in lower testing environments, and to track and report any issues that are discovered to License Sales Supervisor;
- Run weekly reports to identify, and produce Lifetime License cards for, eligible customers who purchase, age into or newly qualify for Lifetime privileges. Once new cards are produced, OA2 will ensure the accurate and timely mailing of cards to DECALS lifetime license customers; Assist License Sales Supervisor with responding to businesses inquiring about becoming an agent, sending potential agents all the pertinent training components, work with DEC Revenue to get new agents set up and to resolve agent training issues;
-Assist License Sales Supervisor with the shipment and tracking of license printers. This will include packaging printers and creating UPS shipping and return labels, noting these shipments in a printer tracking spreadsheet and responding to ITS staff who may have initiated the shipment of a printer due to printer issues with the old printer;
-Responsible for responding to FOIL requests pertaining to DECALS customers' license holdings and game harvest reporting information that are received by the License Sales Unit. Also, periodically the Legal Department may ask for DECALS information that needs to be included in a subpoena. OA2 will gather information from DECALS and provide to Legal; and
-Manage inventory of License Sales Unit office supplies, including supplies for LT card printer, and order new supplies as necessary, following management and budget ordering procedures.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.

Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 7 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Accountant Aide Trainee 1 or 2, Agency Services Representative, Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Environmental Conservation Program Aide Trainee, Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Legal Assistant Trainee 1, Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor, Senior Offset Machine Operator, Senior Offset Printing Machine Operator. Also any language parenthetic for the above titles. Additional titles which qualify can be found on the Department of Civil Service website, http://www.cs.ny.gov/, search "GOT-IT."
