|Duties/Responsibilities||The position includes operation and maintenance of small and large excavating and construction equipment and trucks at State facilities and on all associated infrastructure. That infrastructure may include construction or maintenance of administrative roadways, parking lots, sign installations, pole barns and other structures, site work for placement of concrete or other specialty application, septic systems, observation platforms, rip rap, bridge or culvert installation or other related excavation or construction operations.|

|+Minimum Qualifications for Non-Competitive Appointments:
Must have one year of experience in light and heavy duty construction equipment operation. Operation and maintenance of light/heavy duty construction equipment and trucks is required. Must have a CDL Class B within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements.
Preferred qualifications: Proficient in the use of a computer and have the ability to complete daily work orders and reports.
Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
In accordance with union contract, this position is anticipated to be filled by an eligible DEC CSEA Operations Services Unit 03 employee who meets the minimum qualifications. One year of experience in the operation of equipment as appropriate for this position and the possession of a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle operated. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements.
|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hour's emergencies. Must have a valid Class B CDL within 6 months of appointment with appropriate endorsements. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse.
