Duties/Responsibilities The position manages the planning and design for site, boat launch, bridge, fish hatchery and landscape architecture projects. The individual implements and manages programs for consultant services as required to meet DEC program needs. Individuals must possess expertise in the Adirondack Forest Preserve, DEC, Army Corps of Engineers and other regulations as they apply to project implementation to ensure projects satisfy all jurisdictional requirements.

This position assists with construction contract development, bidding and the construction phase of projects. It reports updates on the design section assignment status to the Bureau Chief. This position leads the site design section in the development and refinement of standard specifications and the consideration of new or innovative products or systems in projects. A background in site design, dam design, hydrology and hydraulics is highly preferred.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Travel and overnight travel may be required. Overtime may be required. Must be available for emergency response.
