Duties/Responsibilities

Supervise the Policy and Planning Section in the Bureau of Program Management and direct section staff in performing activities designed to facilitate implementation of the Division of Environmental Remediation's (DER) Programs. The candidate would perform administrative duties regarding time and attendance, travel, budgeting, managing staff activities and workload.

The Section Chief is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the various policy and planning activities the Section carries out for the Division including: legislation and regulatory development and coordination; managing DER federal and state grants; Annual Work Plan development and coordination; liaison for DER Internal Controls; outreach/citizen participation; policy/guidance development; and direct section staff in performing activities designed to facilitate implementation of DER's Programs. Additional responsibilities include GASB 49 Analysis; records management; FOIL coordination; web site development and coordination; data/IT coordination; program reporting; and preparing briefing documents, presentations, position papers and special reports as needed by executive management.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.
or

Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 25 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Chief Budgeting Analyst, Engineering Geologist 3, Environmental Analyst 3, Environmental Compliance Assistance Supervisor, Public Participation Specialist 4.
Additional Comments

Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Travel and overnight travel may be required. Overtime may be required.
