Duties/Responsibilities Supervise lower-level fish culturists; Plan and direct the annual work program for facility; Plan and supervise maintenance schedules; Prepare hatchery budget requests; Plan and oversee implementation of hatchery fish cultural program; Coordinate fish health management plan for facility; Handle administrative matters including recruitment, selection, and evaluation of employees; Prepare statistical and narrative reports; Live on-site in state-owned housing.

+Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointments:

You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and have had 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Fish Culturist 2 or Fish Culturist 3.

Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC
or

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hour's emergencies. Must reside in State Housing.
