This is a permanent, full-time manager of DEC's Reynolds Game Farm in Ithaca, NY. The candidate is responsible for coordinating activities necessary to meet goals of DEC's pheasant propagation and stocking program.
The candidate is required to live on the facility in state-provided housing, and to sign a standard state housing contract (available upon request). Work includes monitoring the safety and security of the facility during normal work hours, weekends, nights, and holidays, including (1) monitoring game farm grounds and facilities for trespassers; (2) monitoring game farm equipment to ensure the safety of wildlife stock; (3) monitoring weather conditions to ensure safety of wildlife stock and facilities; and (4) monitoring wild stock health. The resident game farm manager's presence in the game farm residence is a deterrent to vandalism and theft, ensuring that program goals and objectives will be met annually. The farm facility includes 166 acres of property, 15 buildings, and 25 acres of covered wild stock pens.
Overnight travel is required. The candidate must possess a valid NYS driver's license, and operate mechanized equipment (or successfully complete training) including all-terrain vehicles, pick-up trucks, tractors, forklifts, and chainsaws.

|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must reside in State Housing.|
