|Duties/Responsibilities||Under the direction of the Regional Wildlife Manager, this Forester 1 position will work with a Regional Biologist 1 to develop forest management plans to create or maintain young forest habitat on Wildlife Management Areas. The incumbent will write prescriptions for timber management and work with Central Office staff to initiate timber sale contracts as necessary. The incumbent will supervise a forestry technician (either seasonal or Forestry Technician 2) to implement supporting activities (e.g. forest inventory, timber marking). Other duties include: outreach; producing annual reports and assessing the effectiveness of implemented forest management actions.|

|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, overnight travel and weekends and holidays may be required.|
