|Duties/Responsibilities||Assist in the management and oversight of DEC conservation easement lands; assist staff in monitoring and inspection of working forest easements and the planning and implementation of public recreational access on conservation easement lands; review and inspect forest management plans and activities to verify that forest management activities are being conducted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the conservation easement; assist DEC program staff with drafting new conservation easements and developing required baseline documentation reports; review conservation easement work plans and stewardship agreements; serve as liaison between the Division of Lands & Forests and Office of Communication Services in promoting the abundance of conservation easement public access opportunities across New York State.|

Open competitive minimum qualifications (provided for 55b/c candidates and 70.4 transfer eligibles):
You must have a bachelor's degree or higher, including 15 semester credit hours in forestry including silvics or silviculture, forest mensuration, forest inventory, forest soils, dendrology and forest management AND 25 semester credit hours in three or more of the following areas: forest protection, wilderness management, natural resource planning, geographic information systems, forest ecology, forest recreation, forest biology, hydrology, forest engineering, timber harvesting, forest pathology or forest and woods product engineering. Please include a copy of your college transcripts if applying for a provisional appointment.
