|Duties/Responsibilities||The incumbent is responsible for construction and repairs at DEC campgrounds, Five Rivers Environmental Education Center, and other facilities in the Region. Responsibilities include: electrical, plumbing, structural, carpentry, welding and all aspects of fire and safety violation remediation. Incumbent will be responsible for supervising subordinate staff.

|+Minimum Qualifications for Non-Competitive Appointments:
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.
In accordance with union contract, this position is anticipated to be filled by an eligible DEC - CSEA Operations Services Unit 03 employee who meets the minimum qualifications.
|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Use of personal protection equipment, including a respirator, will be required. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hour's emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months of the appointment.
