|Duties/Responsibilities||Design and construct all required carpentry projects, such as, kiosks, signs, roofs, building remodeling, etc. for the Ray Brook working circle. This includes conducting inspections, ordering all materials and installation at various locations, and coordinating constructions projects with other journeymen staff (e.g., plumbing, electrical). Supervise staff on-site ensuring that all health and safety and standard operating procedures are being followed.
Will need to communicate with supervisors and give updates on work being performed. Will be required to use the tools, machines, equipment and material in the carpenter trade.

|+Minimum Qualifications for Non-Competitive Appointments:
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journey-level position which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis. Must obtain a Class B CDL within six months of appointment.
Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications.
In accordance with union contract, this position is anticipated to be filled by an eligible DEC - CSEA Operations Services Unit 03 employee who meets the minimum qualifications.
|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hours emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months of the appointment. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
