Duties/Responsibilities Possess ability to perform a variety of construction trades including but not limited to masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical. Perform a variety of tasks utilizing power and manual hand tools including but not limited to saws, hammers, drills, sanders, routers, and stationary power tools. Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors, bulldozers, loaders, etc. Operate light self propelled equipment such as power mowers, chain saws, drills, powersaws, etc. Supervise seasonal staff as necessary.

Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

In accordance with union contract, this position is anticipated to be filled by an eligible DEC - CSEA Operational Services Unit 03 employee who meets the minimum qualifications. Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trades worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain, work in remote areas and work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response and available to respond to after- hour's emergencies. Must obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months of the appointment. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 80 pounds.
