Duties/Responsibilities Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and the public in person, on the telephone, and in writing. Must be able to perform all clerical and secretarial functions such as file maintenance, taking care of office machinery, handling mail and office supplies, including reams of paper.

One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55c service as an Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding Spanish Language), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding Spanish Language), Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 1, Law Department Document Specialist Trainee 2, or Law Department Document Specialist.

At this time we do not have a viable eligible list for this title. If there are no more than three individuals interested from among the qualified candidates for this position, it will be possible to make a permanent appointment via non-competitive promotion.

Reinstatement Eligible - Previously held the title on a permanent competitive basis or held a title as indicated under the transfer eligible section on a permanent competitive basis.

Transfer Eligible - One year of permanent competitive service at Salary Grade 9 or higher and:
Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Secretary 1, Secretary 2, Accountant Aide including Trainee 1 & 2, Business Document Specialist 1 & 2, Program Aide, Keyboard Specialist 3, Legal Assistant Trainee 1 & 2, Library Clerk 2 & 3, Office Assistant 2, Office Assistant 2 (Calculations), Office Assistant 2 (Customer Service), Office Assistant 2 (Keyboarding), Office Assistant 2 (Stores/Mail), Office Assistant 3, Office Assistant 3 (Calculations), Senior Offset Printing Machine Operator, Stores & Mail Operations Supervisor. Also any language parenthetic for the above titles. Additional titles which qualify can be found on the Department of Civil Service website, http://www.cs.ny.gov/, search "GOT-IT".

If you have not already demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding you will have to demonstrate that you meet the minimum proficiency in keyboarding.
Additional Comments Must be able to lift and move objects up to 5 Pounds.

Duties/Responsibilities This position will provide support for the Allegany Office including but not limited to, supervising staff, entering Revenue Accounting information, reconciling credit card statements, maintaining a ledger, processing invoices, making payments using credit cards, providing administrative support to the Ranger Captain and Natural Resources Supervisor, processing personnel transactions, overseeing evaluation submission, assisting with inventory, and ordering supplies. Duties will also include typing, filling, answering phones, copying, scanning, entering data and selling fishing/hunting/bait licenses as necessary.
