|Duties/Responsibilities||The Division of Air Resources operates an extensive air monitoring network throughout the state to gather air quality data for a suite of air contaminants. The Senior Laboratory Equipment Designer (Electronics) in the Southern Monitoring Operations Section is a supervisory position that schedules and oversees the work of lower level staff in the New York City Metropolitan area. The incumbent will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance and repair of air quality monitoring equipment as well as QA/QC procedures and the verification and review of monitoring data and operational parameters. Other tasks include the oversight and management of the establishment of air quality monitoring stations, including siting, construction and electrical communication connection through hands-on and supervision of lower level staff. The incumbent will also develop and design operational procedures for complex electronic equipment and support systems; prepare written correspondence and reports; and work with research staff to assist in the development of papers and presentation.|

|Additional Comments||Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel, overtime, and overnight travel may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
