Climate Change for Students and Educators

Learning about climate change in school?

Looking for activities to teach climate change?

We have all heard that we need to start doing something NOW about climate change. We have heard all about changing light bulbs, unplugging electronics not in use, and taking public transportation. But what is the reasoning behind these actions? What are the impacts for New York State? Why are there so many differences between scientists? And exactly WHAT is the science behind the predictions? And is there a difference between climate change and global warming?

The new Climate Change Office within the DEC is working with leading scientists to help offer New Yorkers answers to their climate change questions. In this section, we offer students and educators - formal and non-formal - resources to learn about and study climate change.

The Student section offers an annotated link listing of kid's websites about climate change - activities, resources and, the science behind climate change.

The Educator section offers an annotated bibliography of curriculum, activities, background science information on climate change, and other climate change-related resources.
